Questions

What people ask us

How do I keep pests out of my house?

Start with the gaps. Seal cracks around pipes, vents and doors with caulk or steel wool. Fix drips and clear standing water, because humid weather draws roaches and ants. Keep food in sealed containers and trim branches back from the roof. These are safe first steps for any homeowner. Know your limits, though. Roof and attic gaps need a provider's ladder and gear.

Can I get rid of mice or rats myself?

You can help, but only up to a point. Do clean up food crumbs, store pet food in tight bins and seal small gaps. Do wear gloves and a mask when cleaning droppings. Do not sweep dry droppings or use loose poison where kids or pets live. A few traps may catch one mouse. A real infestation means entry points you cannot see, so a provider should inspect.

How do I choose a pest control provider?

Ask a few plain questions. Is the provider licensed in your state? Do they carry insurance? Will they give a written quote that names the pest, the method and the follow-up visits? Ask which products they use if you have pets or small children. Be careful with anyone who pushes you to sign on the spot. A calm provider will explain the plan and let you decide.

What should I do first if I find an animal in my home?

Pause, then plan. Keep your distance and keep kids and pets out of the room. Do not corner the animal, grab it or try to chase it with a broom. Open an outside door if it can leave on its own, then close off the room. Bats, raccoons and other wildlife can bite. Request an estimate so a provider can remove it safely.

What happens during a pest inspection?

A provider looks for the pest, how it got in and what is drawing it. Expect a walk through the yard, foundation, kitchen, bathrooms, attic or crawl space as needed. You will hear what was found and what is recommended. Then you get a written quote. Seeing a quote does not mean you have to hire anyone.

How much does pest control cost?

It depends on the pest, the home size and how bad things are. As a rough U.S. range, a one-time treatment for ants or roaches often runs about $100 to $300. Ongoing plans are billed monthly or quarterly. Rodent sealing, termite work and bed bug treatment can run into the hundreds or thousands. Always get a written quote before work starts.

Do I have to leave home during treatment?

Sometimes. Many routine sprays and baits let you stay home, though you may need to keep pets and children away until surfaces dry. Bed bug treatment and fumigation usually need you to leave for a set time. Your provider should tell you what to do before, during and after. Ask for these steps in writing so nothing gets missed.

Is Clientcivil Pest Control the company that does the work?

No. Clientcivil Pest Control is a referral service. You send one request, and we pass it to an independent local provider in our network. That provider inspects the problem, gives you a written quote and does any work. Prices, methods and schedules come from the provider, not from us. You can compare, ask questions and say no. There is no obligation.
